The Stockbridge Ramsdell House On Hudson is an easy drive from New York City, Connecticut and Pennsylvania and is located on the West bank of the Hudson River, just South of Interstate 84's Hamilton Fish Newburgh Beacon Bridge.  It overlooks the city of Beacon, New York; and is a short, 10 minute drive from Newburgh's Stewart International Airport.

Directions:

From the South:
Take the Palisades Interstate Parkway North to the end.  At the rotary, go halfway around and bear right where the sign says "Newburgh, 9W North".  Stay straight on 9W North for approx. 14 miles - you will pass through Fort Montgomery, Cornwall and New Windsor.  You will see the Windsor Motel on the right.  Very shortly after, at the sign for "Plum Point on Hudson condos", bear right.   You will pass through an industrial section, parallel to the Hudson River on the right.  In approx 2 miles, you will see signs for waterfront restaurants.  Approx. 30 seconds after a red sign for the restaurant "Torches", make a left onto Broad St.  Go 1 block and make a left onto Montgomery St.  We are approx. 3 blocks down on the left, on a tree-lined street of old Victorian homes.

Alternative from the South:
Take the NYS Thruway (Route 87) North to Exit 17, Newburgh.  Follow the signs to Route 84 East.  Take Rt 84 East for approx 2 minutes to the exit that says "Newburgh, 9W South".  Take 9W South for approx. 10 seconds and make a left at the sign that says "Historic District - Newburgh Waterfront" onto N. Plank Rd.   Go approx ½ mile and make a right onto Montgomery St.  We are approx. 3 blocks down on the left, on a tree-lined street of old Victorian homes.

From the North:

From the East:
Take Route 84 West over the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to the exit that says "Newburgh, 9W South".  Take 9W South for approx. 10 seconds and make a left at the sign that says "Historic District - Newburgh Waterfront" onto N. Plank Rd.   Go approx ½ mile and make a right onto Montgomery St.  We are approx. 3 blocks down on the left, on a tree-lined street of old Victorian homes.

From the West:
Take Route 84 East to the exit that says "Newburgh, 9W South".  Take 9W South for approx. 10 seconds and make a left at the sign that says "Historic District - Newburgh Waterfront" onto N. Plank Rd.   Go approx ½ mile and make a right onto Montgomery St.  We are approx. 3 blocks down on the left, on a tree-lined street of old Victorian homes.

From NYC:

It is very easy to get here by train - many city residents come that way.  We see the Beacon train station across the river, as well as Dia:Beacon, the largest contemporary art museum in the world.  Beacon is on the Hudson River line of Metro North, leaving out of Grand Central Station.  It is approx. 75 minutes.  From Beacon, you can easily get a cab - they usually wait there.  It is less than 5 miles door-to-door.
